STP Reunion Rumors Run Rampant
LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Word on the street is that Scott Weiland may be teaming up with his old band, Stone Temple Pilots for a fistful of tour dates this summer. This tidbit was spilled by Weiland's current Velvet Revolver band-mate Slash, who mentioned it during an interview with Billboard.
The rumors were compounded by a Miami Herald blogger who reported that Weiland had said that we should "be on the lookout" for an STP reunion. Another tantalizing tidbit is that Velvet Revolver have updated their setlist with some new STP covers that they hadn't included previously.
STP has been on the shelf since 2002, when the band parted company. The band's last album, "Shangri-La Dee Da" came out the previous year and climbed to #9 on the Billboard top 200 but did not achieve the commercial success of their previous releases.
Still, nothing official has been released and no actual dates have been mentioned. Weiland's management was not available for comment. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
