JoJo Shares Swimsuit Photo in Her "Favorite Color" Celebwell
Singer-songwriter JoJo (real name Joanna Levesque) is living her best life in Turks and Caicos. The 32-year-old star shared pictures from her luxurious trip, including snaps of her posing with friends in a turquoise-green bikini, enjoying every moment of the sea, sand, and surf. She also posted a picture of herself wearing a yellow dress for evening fun. "Turquoise is my favorite color," she captioned the post. "Aquamarine!! 🧜🏻♀️" commented a fan. How does she do it? Here are 5 ways JoJo takes care of her health and wellbeing.
JoJo swears by cardio and weights to stay fit and strong. "Typically, I do cardio five times a week and strength training three times. I also like to switch things up by doing hot yoga, Pilates on the reformer and boxing when I get the chance," she says. "If I'm on the road, we make it a point to stay at hotels with 24-hour gyms. I just fit it in where I can. Sometimes in the morning, sometimes in the middle of the day, after a show or in the wee hours of the morning if I can't sleep!"
JoJo keeps an eye on her diet, making adjustments when necessary. "I just try to eat better when I feel I'm gaining weight," she says. "[I'll have] fruit, oatmeal, vegetables and salads with chicken or tuna. I love having dessert, so I'll do fruit and coffee instead of a sundae or something."
JoJo has learned to enjoy cooking. "Cooking has been keeping me sane," she says. "It's been another creative expression for me. I've gotten really passionate about plant-based cooking, as well as baking and mixology. I started a little side Instagram page called JoJo's Sweet Spots."
JoJo prefers to eat less throughout the day. "Lately I've been liking something heavier for lunch and lighter later in the night," she says. "I love flavor and spice, so I'll have Mexican or Indian food for lunch and then soup and a salad with chicken for dinner.I like grilled chicken sandwiches, so I take one piece of bread off and eat it open-faced. If I'm really craving a fry, I order a small size and go for it!"
JoJo's favorite snacks are dried fruits and nuts, or popcorn. "When prepared well, popcorn actually is a pretty good snack," says Maya Vadiveloo, PhD, RD, assistant professor in the department of nutrition and food sciences at the University of Rhode Island. "It's stable. It's inexpensive. It's fairly tasty. For people who might be struggling to eat adequate fruits or vegetables or other whole grains, it's a low-risk snack to start."
