Prior to becoming an HGTV star Hilary "grew up wanting to be a ballet dancer," she told Extra. As a child, she even attended the Royal Ballet School in London.
Hilary has a few food vices. She revealed to Viva that cookies are her ultimate cheat food, which her go-to comfort food is "Toast with lots of butter and honey." As for her biggest food challenge? "Avoiding carbs as my first 'go to','' she confessed.
What keeps Hilary eating a balanced diet? "It used to be simply vanity I now need every ounce of energy, so I have to eat right," she told Viva. She always keeps yogurt, fruit, eggs, cheese, tomatoes and salad, white wine, and champagne in her fridge. Some of her go-to meals? "Grilled chicken with lima beans and cilantro. Black quinoa with sautéed garlic, green onions, peppers, and scallops," she said.
Hilary loves eggs. "For quiche, scrambled, fried, poached, egg white for meringues. Egg yolks for custard, lemon curd, and as a treatment for my hair!" she told Viva.
Hilary, a breast cancer survivor, is an advocate for women to get checked. "Fear of breast cancer stops a lot of women from getting checked. But as terrifying as it is, you face it," Farr told People. "Thinking that you should keep it a secret or just power through doesn't help and it doesn't heal … If I can change that for one person, then that's enough."
In her most recent post, Hilary revealed that she stays active outdoors, even when on a weekend getaway. "We swam, boogie boarded, ate really well but too much, drank really well but not too much," she said.
